How I Spent My St. Patrick's Day

Our green holiday was an eventful one. It started out with a plate full of green clover pancakes and yummy sausage - courtesy of Levi who then had to leave courtesy of bedbugs. Next we had a grand parade down main street. As you can see from Rayn's blog, our parade consisted of Hazel's wagon float (Leprechaun Aryn did a wonderful job assuring the safety of our Hazel pot of gold.) Tomie's bicycle float, and the marching band.

On the more mundane side, we went shopping to use our double coupons and Tomas introduced Mario to mashed potatoes.

The evening ended with a truncated scout meeting and a lightening fast trip to the Cedar City library to get Levi's books 1 and 2 of the Mistborn trilogy signed by Brandon Sanderson!

Saturday's adventures began as Hazel, Shaynae, McKinlee, and I raced home from Taya's fantabulous birthday party, grabbed Levi and Tomie, and headed to Springdale for the big parade. We parked out front of Josh and Steph's new shop, the Zion Lyon, and collected vast quantities of candy. Yum!

We had so much fun and are glad we had the chance to make memories with our wonderful family.

Ice Cream and Cousins

When Kasey visited lasterweekend, Grandpa's sent the grandkids and the coin jar to the DQ.

Asher repeatedly tried to lick the ice cream off his arm but kept getting distracted by the black streak of paint. Tasty?


These two are pretty cute, too.

Thanks for a sweet outing Grandpa! We sure love to spend time with cousins!

St. Patty's Day Parade

Ever since the high school days, I've gone to the St. Patrick's Day Parade. Whether it was skipping down the parade route with the green-shirted HS band, sashaying with the kilted SUU bagpipe band, or spectating with whatever family and friends I could rustle up to join me for a day of goofy, green, good times.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find out when the Springdale celebration is to be held this year. For all I know, it already happened on Saturday! Argh! So, I've decided we're going to have our very own parade down Main Street, LaVerkin.

The parade will commence at noon in front of our house and head to the park for a picnic, green Kool-aid, and fun. You are all welcome to take some time out of your busy Spring Break, find some green clothes, decorate your bikes/wagons/whatever, pack a picnic, and join us in our St. Patrick's Day parade!

I, for one, am very excited! And, yes, I know I'm a dork. :o) But, it will be lots of fun getting things ready at FHE tonight and playing tomorrow.

Hey, It's Pi Day!

Happy pi day! I hope everyone has a great day calculating the area and volume of circles, spheres, cylinders, and cones - brought to you by our favorite irrational number pi.



Or, I suppose you could just eat pi of a pie. Which ever suits your fancy. :o)

An Average Day on the Gublers' Oddyssey

Open Open Open!

This is the scene outside the DI at 10:01, Friday the 6th. I find it amusing that this is an everyday occurrence. At least I assume it is, having randomly arrived at the DI just before 10 a couple other times only to find a similar scenario. I just wonder if everyone else was there on a whim, or if there really is premeditated thrift-store door-busting going on at the Deseret Industry!

Geocaching With Sally & Phred

The last Saturday in February found us geocaching with my parents in their new "'zuki."


Sally, Grandpa, Grandma, Tomas, Phreddie, Levi, and Hazel.

They took us south, past the Hurricane airport, and this is what we found:

Tomas got to ride with Grandma and Grandpa and was a big help with the GPS. He also enjoyed using the walkie talkies to talk to Mom and Dad in the other 'zuki.

Hazel decided to make her own kind of memories, right up her back and all over her clothes. So she spent the rest of the excursion stripped down to her diaper and wrapped in a blanket. She didn't seem to mind :o)


Cache #6: Dino-Poachers

We had lunch at the dinosaur tracks, courtesy of my mother, and then headed home to do some yard work. We had a lovely time, saw some beautiful country on a beautiful day, and got a tad bit sunburned. Thanks Mom and Dad for a fun Saturday outing!
